Gîte Astronomique is lucky to be located in a dark rural setting. The low lying hills (north and south) provide excellent screening from what little light pollution remains from distant towns.

3.5kms away to the west is Brunet , which has a softly illuminated church. This provides an excellent opportunity for taking star trail images with the church in the foreground.

To the east, a little glow from a small village is adequately screened by our many shrubs and fruit trees. Our dark sky meter averages 21.35
